Piece of upper valve, as in the previous piece, the cross-section is rounded but relatively deep. Fabric as for 1490 and 135 above. The groove for the shank widens at one end; this may result from weathering but could also be an expansion to meet with a pouring gate. The contact faces are weathered. A narrow sharp groove on the back is an impression of a binding strip. Groove for shank: 4mm wide and 2mm deep.
