Fragment with longitudinal central crack. Both contact faces survive but are abraded. These indicate that the blade was narrowing at this point, either towards the butt or the point. The outer skin(s) of the outer wrap have partly eroded away revealing a crisply outlined groove made by a binding thong. The mould was therefore bound before the full outer wrap was applied.
